How to Get to Langkawi: Your Seamless Journey to Paradise

By Air – The Fastest Way

Langkawi International Airport (LGK) offers direct flights from major Malaysian cities and seasonal routes from abroad.

Domestic Flights:

  • Kuala Lumpur – 1 hour

  • Penang – 40 minutes

  • Johor Bahru – 1.5 hours

  • Other cities (Subang, Ipoh, etc.) – Seasonal service

International Flights:

  • Singapore – 1.5 hours (seasonal)

  • Other countries – Connect via Kuala Lumpur or Penang

Tip: Midday flights let you arrive in time for your first rainforest sunset.

By Ferry – Scenic or Cross-Border Routes

Prefer a sea journey? Ferries and speedboats connect Langkawi to mainland Malaysia and southern Thailand.

From Mainland Malaysia:

  • Kuala Perlis – 1 hour 15 mins 

  • Kuala Kedah – 1 hr 45 mins

From Thailand:

  • Koh Lipe – 1.5 hours (seasonal, from October – May)

  • Satun (Tammalang Pier) – 1 hour (year-round)

Arrival: All ferries dock at Kuah Jetty (35–40 mins from Ambong). We can help arrange transfers from there.

By Car

Drive to Kuala Perlis or Kuala Kedah and park securely near the terminal—or bring your vehicle across via car ferry (from Kuala Perlis, advance booking advised).
